Travelodge Newcastle Whitemare Pool

Tired & needs refurbishment. I fount out too late, non of the rooms have walk in showers :( all the pillows were like bricks, & bed dips in the centre, making it difficult with 2 people in the bed. Unfortunately we had some noise people above us who were also late to bed! We only saw 2 staff, 1 on checking in & 1 on checking out. Otherwise the "back in a minute" sign was up. All in all not a particularly good experience.

I stayed here 1 night. The location is very convenient on the motorway network. When I arrived, the desk was empty but a member of staff came through and checked me in after a minute or so. Everything was clear and I was welcomed to the hotel. My room was clean, tidy and as expected with complimentary tea and coffee and towels to use. Some of the bulbs on the wall lights in 41 didn’t work but all the downward facing lights worked so that wasn’t a problem. The only thing which was not brilliant is the road noise. Perhaps the windows need upgrading at some point but once I was asleep (it didn’t take long to sleep), I had a great sleep. The hotel has no lift so if you’re upstairs, you need to carry your cases up. On departure, there was no member of staff to say goodbye so I dropped my key through the slot on the reception desk and left just before the 12pm check-out time. I will use this hotel again when I’m back in Newcastle.
